Laurita le Roux
Laurita le Roux is the artist behind Where There's Light. She lives in Bellville with her very fetching husband and two energetic boys. By day she works as a video editor, by night she illustrates and explores visual storytelling in a more tactile way.
What started as an antidote to anxiety developed into a means to capture and collect the genius loci of places that carry significance.
Her work explores the contrast between man-made architecture and the organic, fluid structure of nature that resides alongside it — the interconnected creative urge between God and His creation which makes up the places where we live.
She has worked professionally in ceramics and stage design, but the therapeutic rhythm of line remains her favoured form of expression.
